Jazz Music City can aptly be called many things - a record label, a childhood-dream come true, and even a cultural resource. That said, Jazz Music City is most significantly a difference-maker.

JMC has three primary objectives:

- offer an oasis of world-class musicianship to jazz listeners and supporters of all ages

- bring much-needed attention to the world-class singers and instrumentalists living in Nashville and the surrounding areas

- enhance Nashville's reputation as a standout "Music City," with a music scene of unsurpassed diversity and talent.

NEWS FROM JAZZ MUSIC CITY!- JMC Founder Rahsaan Barber is profiled in the January 2012 Edition of DOWNBEAT MAGAZINE! Jazz columnist Bob Doerschuk wrote a wonderful, full-page article on Rahsaan's new band, new record and new venture - Jazz Music City! Along with pianist Jody Nardone, bassist Jerry Navarro, drummer Nioshi Jackson and guitarist James DaSilva, Rahsaan was joined by an all-star trio of special guests - trombonist Roland Barber, pianist Bruce Dudley and vocalist Stephanie Adlington!
